    What You Will Do

    We are currently looking for an Electrical Design Engineer to be responsible for a wide variety of engineering work in support of current production medical devices including design changes, process/quality improvements and compliance issues. You will also support and conduct root cause analysis, verification and validation testing, manufacturing transfer activities and component obsolescence management for existing products.

    Technical Responsibilities:

    • Design and develop electrical components for medical devices.
    • Apply circuit and electrical system test methods.
    • Assist with prototyping and bench testing.
    • Work closely with manufacturing and other cross-functional partners to support day-to-day manufacturing and sourcing.
    • Developing and maintaining expertise on the latest applicable wireless standards (Wi-Fi 802.11, Bluetooth/BLE, 802.15.4 etc)
    • Support Quality & Service teams for analysis of customer complaints related to product failures & provide solutions to resolve the same. Will need to travel to customers, as needed, to better understand and solve ongoing field issues.
    • Work on engineering change orders (ECOs) and own design change from root cause analysis to implementation; this involves working with cross-functional team members to understand the problem, propose solutions, prototype design, , plan and conduct testing, arrange team collaboration meetings, present to Change approval board for design approval and implementation
    • Support and engage with New Product Development teams for the design on new products.
    • As part of the design process, design circuits including Schematic Capture, Layout, Simulation and Failure Mode Analysis for PCBAs, Cables, and other electromechanical components.
    • Analyze & test for electromagnetic compliance (EMI/EMC), reliability, safety, cost, and design for manufacturing/assembly/test.
    • Work with electrical tools like DMM, Oscilloscope, Network and spectrum analyzers & product specific test fixtures
    • Under supervision, conduct research and studies to support product design.

    General Responsibilities:

    • Collaborate with R&D, Quality, Manufacturing, Regulatory, Clinical, Marketing, and Project Management to ensure project success and contribute to the project as a team member.
    • Learn procedures, policies, processes, systems, and technology required.
    • Demonstrate ownership and prioritize work with minimal supervision.
    • Build relationships and influence among peers.

    What you Need:

    Must Haves:

    • Bachelor's degree in EE or related discipline
    • 0-2+ years of work experience required
    • Basic knowledge of electrical components and manufacturing methods.
    • Basic ability to read and interpret electrical drawings.
    • Basic understanding of the electrical design process.

    Nice to Haves:

    • Knowledge of wired interface protocols, including I2C, UART, RS-232, RS-485, CAN, SPI, LVDS, Ethernet, and DRAM interfaces ·
    • Knowledge of wireless interface protocols, such as Bluetooth, BLE, RFID, and Wi-Fi, including standards, requirements, and testing protocols
    • Ability to utilize simulation tools including Pspice and PCBA layout tools to implement robust and effective interface solutions
    • Ability to work closely with software, mechanical, and electrical engineering disciplines to implement EMC best practices and execute testing at internal/external labs ·
    • Knowledge of standard wireless communication protocols (Wi-Fi 802.11, Bluetooth/BLE 802.15.4 etc)
    • Proficiency in the hardware, software and troubleshooting techniques used to develop and debug wireless communication interfaces.
    • Knowledge of design and concept generation CAD, CAE, or simulation tools.
    • Knowledge of analysis tools and statistical methods.
    • Knowledge of system components and associated requirements.
    • Knowledge of basic troubleshooting techniques in electrical hardware & software
    • Familiarity with EMI/EMC aspects of wireless technologies
    • Basic scripting techniques for data analysis
