    Essential Duties & Responsibilities

    • Design and execute robotic system platform accuracy tests. Post process data (via Matlab, Minitab, Python, etc.).
    • Design and develop application software for robotic-arm assisted orthopedics surgery products (C programming language).
    • Implement concepts, draft design documentation, and plan and conduct relevant tests.
    • Follow quality and design processes.
    • Work closely with peers in software engineering, software quality assurance, and project and product management to develop application software that meets quality, customer, and system requirements.
    • Work diligently to project schedules as determined by project leaders and be able to clearly communicate status of assignments, coordinate tasks, and shift priorities as dictated by project demands.

    Job Description Summary

    Develop code (in C++ programming language) to enable accurate anatomical bone registration. Use existing mathematical algorithms and explore viability of new algorithms to map a computed tomography scan (CT) of a bone to a physical bone during a surgical procedure. Design and implement tests to ensure full code functionality, present and document results.

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities

    • Design and develop application software for robotic-arm assisted orthopedics surgery products (C++ programming language).
    • Implement algorithms in C++ programming language to enable registration of physical bone to a CT scan.
    • Test C++ code to ensure requirements are met.
    • Follow quality and design processes.
    • Work closely with peers in software engineering, software quality assurance, and project and product management to develop application software that meets quality, customer, and system requirements.
    • Work diligently to project schedules as determined by project leaders and be able to clearly communicate status of assignments, coordinate tasks, and shift priorities as dictated by project demands.
    • Design and execute robotic system platform accuracy tests. Post process data (via Matlab, Minitab, Python, etc.).

    Qualifications ​

    • Currently working on completion of a Bachelor’s or Master’s or PhD degree (preferred) in related field or equivalent; we will only consider students who plan be enrolled in a degree-seeking program after the summer
    • Cumulative 3.0 GPA or above; must be the case at the date of hire and also will be verified during background check in the spring
    • C++ proficiency
    • Mathematical understanding of forward/inverse robot kinematics
    • Computer vision experience (CT imaging preferred)
    • Must be permanent resident of the U.S. or U.S. citizen
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills; able to manage priorities and workflow
    • Ability to exercise independent judgment
    • Strong interpersonal skills
