R&D Formulation Science interns collaborate with scientists and engineers on the development of new pharmaceutical and cosmetic formulations. They have the opportunity to research ingredients, and help to develop and test new and novel formulations and formulation-based products that meet customer expectations, business requirements and regulations while advancing the division’s capabilities and supporting the long-term growth strategy. In this role, interns also have the opportunity to be exposed to and learn different manufacturing and testing technologies, as well as pharmaceutical development processes such as Quality by Design.

OPPORTUNITIES AVAILABLE
As a Formulation Scientist/Engineer Intern at Stryker, you will:
Research clinical problems and propose concepts to solve them
Help to develop and test new formulations
Define and develop new test methods
WHAT YOU NEED
Currently working on completion of Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Science, Formulation Science, Cosmetic Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related field; we will only consider students who plan be enrolled in a degree-seeking program after the summer
Experience in polymers, pharmacy, biomedical sciences, and/or biology preferred
Cumulative 3.0 GPA or above; must be the case at the date of hire and also will be verified during background check in the spring
Must be permanent resident of the U.S. or U.S. citizen
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills; able to manage priorities and workflow
Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm
Ability to exercise independent judgment
Proficient on basic computer programs: Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint
Proven leadership and business acumen skills
Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines
Strong interpersonal skills
