    Stryker’s Industrial Design internship offers qualified candidates the opportunity to work on the development of design concepts for a suite of resuscitation-based products targeted for use with ALS/BLS emergency care teams. This Industrial Design intern will undertake tasks required in the design and development process, including up-front research & concept generation. This position will generate various deliverables for development milestones that may include data visualizations, ideation sketches, concept renderings, 3D-CAD documentation, physical models and prototypes. The intern will also have a unique opportunity to collaborate and engage with multi-disciplinary teams including but not limited to Marketing, Mechanical Engineering, as well as other functions and disciplines within the User Experience Design Team.

    • Support, participate and observe end user research and assessment of existing and prototype solutions in real/simulated scenarios and help identify user needs.

    • Ensure quality of research synthesis and analysis within design framework for the purpose of generating customer insights and creating design inputs.

    • Carry out synthesis and analysis of qualitative and quantitative data to define insights that lead to problem identification and design inputs

    • Carry out 2D and 3D (physical and digital) ideation and prototyping to explore and communicate solutions.

    WHAT YOU NEED

    • Currently working on completion of a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Industrial Design or related field; we will only consider students who plan be enrolled in a degree-seeking program after the summer
    • Portfolio of work (online or PDF) highly preferred.
    • Cumulative 3.0 GPA or above; must be the case at the date of hire and also will be verified during background check in the spring
    • Must be permanent resident of the U.S. or U.S. citizen
    • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills; able to manage priorities and workflow
    • Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm
    • Strong interpersonal skills
    • Ability to exercise independent judgment
