    This is a temporary position involving various duties that permit exposure to the intern's field of work and/or provide experience that is a useful addition to the education and meaningful preparation for future professional employment. Under immediate direction and under work guidance of staff, assists and supports organization in development of various projects.

    Typical duties: prepares spreadsheets with data interpretation; performs related duties in support of project efforts (e.g. design, monitoring, data extraction, research and reporting) in areas of performance monitoring, outcomes and compliance with policies and rules; provide support with project meetings (schedule project meetings, assist with project documentation, document meeting minutes, and project action/task items); create/analyze process workflows to increase efficiency with cross-functional divisions and/ departments; analyzing data trends, creating reports; creates and maintains files; drafts internal correspondence; performs general and/or clerical duties as assigned. etc.

    This position requires knowledge that is acquired through experience, specialized education or training. The role has clearly defined procedures and tasks as well as defined guidelines to aid in decision-making. Technical knowledge required is limited to the tasks performed in own discipline area and is considered basic. The tasks are generally routine and manual. The job is expected to follow detailed and defined rules / instructions and to make simple judgement in straightforward situations. Typically requires selecting between solutions already established. This job typically requires no experience.

    Essential duties & responsibilities: (detailed description)

    Additional role-specific areas of responsibilities may be added as deemed necessary by the local hiring manager.

    Work with the Compliance Governance and Strategy team to support the implementation of the Global Compliance Risk Assessment (“CRA”) to enable business results by identifying and prioritizing projects, initiatives, and capabilities focused on addressing the most significant risks. Time on the team will be spent learning about the elements of an effective compliance program and the importance of the compliance risk assessment. Work will also include learning about laws, regulations, and enforcement (e.g., Anti-Kickback Statute and Foreign Corrupt Practices Act) and how they apply to the development and enhancement of the compliance program.

    Specifically, duties may include:

    • Help facilitate the launch of the annual CRA, including development of communications, training materials, and tools / templates, as well as updating resources and central repositories, to ensure Compliance Officers are equipped to successfully perform the CRA for their business or country. 
    • Organize and prepare materials for working sessions with Compliance Officers to review risk inputs (e.g., regulatory enforcement activity) to understand the impact on risk to their business.
    • Help identify, centralize, develop, and build compliance metrics to manage and consistently report on the status of the Global Compliance program for local and global Compliance Committees, senior leadership, and the board of directors. Partner with key stakeholders to identify and obtain usable data sources, determine reportable metrics, and leverage existing tools to visualize results. 
    • Partner with key stakeholders to develop and implement the Compliance strategy and goals necessary to enable key business results and manage risk.
    • Proactively collaborate, develop, and maintain working relationships with stakeholders.
    • Participate in other Compliance department activities as needed.

     

    Education & special trainings:

    • B.A. or B.S. candidate from accredited university required.

    What You Need

    • Currently working on completion of a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in related field or equivalent; we will only consider students who plan be enrolled in a degree-seeking program after the summer
    • Cumulative 3.0 GPA or above; must be the case at the date of hire and also will be verified during background check in the spring
    • Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. and not require employment-based sponsorship now or in the future.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills; able to manage priorities and workflow
    • Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm
    • Ability to exercise independent judgment
    • Proficient on basic computer programs: Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint
    • Proven leadership and business acumen skills
