    Wayside Youth & Family Support Network is a children’s mental health agency serving Metrowest and the Greater Boston Area. Our 450+ employees are interested in helping children and families strengthen and enhance their well-being.

    Wayside is a teaching and training facility that provides graduate and undergraduate students with internships and clinical placement. Come intern with us!!!

    • SCHEDULE REQUIREMENTS: Students will need to commit to two days a week on site. Flexibility is key; interns can expect to work some evening hours each week, minimum of 10-16 hours per week.

    DESCRIPTION OF PROGRAM AND TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES

    Wayside Charlton provides an array of in-home, community-based services designed to protect, preserve and reunify families. Services are delivered by a team of Master's level clinicians, Bachelor's level Youth & Family Support Workers, Family Partners and Peer Mentors. The services offered range from In-Home Therapy, Therapeutic Mentoring, and Department of Children & Families and Department of Mental Health programming. Treatment is generally intensive in nature and delivered using a strengths-based, resiliency-focused, wraparound philosophy.

    Wayside Charlton staff work with clients referred from the local school system, Department of Children and Families, Department of Mental Health, and a variety of community and mental health providers. Referrals to services are designed to address such issues as behavior management, mental health symptom management, crisis stabilization, family conflict, substance abuse, household management, parent education, access to resources and more.

    Clinicians collaborate with families and system partners to provide comprehensive assessments, goal formulation, therapeutic, evidence-based intervention, care coordination and advocacy. This is an excellent placement for confident students who will receive ample support from a strong clinical team and who are not afraid to ask questions.

    Supervision is provided weekly by masters level clinicians. Clinical and/or academic exposure to family work is recommended. Final year undergraduate students only.
