    Full time Peer Support Specialist with personal lived experience within the mental health system to work with young adults involved with DMH .

    Peer Support Specialist will work with young people in identifying their strengths and needs and help them identify services, activities and access community resources that promote wellness as they transition to adulthood.

    This position is part time but could become full time across two different young programs.

    Minimum Education: High School Diploma or equivalent

    Minimum Work Experience: Candidate must have personal experience, knowledge of mental health issues, support & community resources.

    Candidate must have a current/valid MA driver's license

    Job Description/Tasks

    Clinical: Provide hope, information, and 1:1 support to young adults involved in behavioral health services or DMH. Work as part of a team with the young adult and other providers. Have minimum required contact with client(s) according to program specifications. Assist young adult in developing advocacy and negotiation skills to improve efficacy of service.

    Care Coordination: Collaborate with all members of the team to ensure continuity in treatment, services, and messages delivered. Share resources with the team and with client as learned/needed. Be able to prove transportation for clients to care plan meetings, DMH meetings, and other meetings as applicable.

    Administrative: Document all contacts with client and regarding client in client record.
