    Wayside Youth & Family Support Network is a children’s mental health agency serving Metrowest and the Greater Boston Area. Our 450+ employees are interested in helping children and families strengthen and enhance their well-being. Wayside is a teaching and training facility that provides graduate and undergraduate students with internships and clinical placement. Come intern with us!!!

    UNDERGRAD INTERNS ARE ENCOURAGED TO APPLY

    • Managing Social Media campaign(s) for Watertown Youth Coalition and its collaborative partners:
    • Include Facebook/Instagram and any other appropriate sites over time.
    • Posting up to 3 times a week, managing schedule of post, managing all highlights/stories for interaction/increase followers on all SM sites. Answer all messages with support from supervisors.
    • Interface with Wayside Youth & Family Support Networks, Marketing and Communications Manager as needed.
    • Attend meetings for planning any social media campaigns.
    • Be prepared to assist partners and staff by sharing each platforms functions and user benefits.
    • Manage all posts, incorporate suggestions for posts by staff and partners

    PROGRAM DESCRIPTION AND TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES:

    The Watertown Youth Coalition (WYC) a part of Wayside Multi Service Center in Watertown, Ma works in the community to in crease wellness related to mental health, substance use prevention and racial and gender equity. The WYC and its partner coalitions in three nearby communities work with key stakeholders and other concerned people to increase positive outcomes for youth and their families. We utilize the Strategic Prevention Framework (SPF) (SAMHSA) to ensure a consistent assessment process and increase capacity of the Coalition members to achieve positive outcomes. This work is shared trough social media which has become an integral part of our communication plan. Sharing ideas and resources, advertising our events and opportunities are vital to our overall success.

    Social Media Interns will gain valuable experience managing content and offering consistent communication via our social media accounts. Learning how we develop prevention campaigns for youth and their caretakers will enhance understanding of the science of prevention frameworks inclusive of the public health perspective.
