  • Responsibilities

    Major Duties (Job Description)

    • You will be responsible for providing supervision, technical leadership, planning, program development, business development, coordination, and management of all aspects of the projects, personnel, and facilities assigned to the Branch.
    • You will participate in the formulation and implementation of the Division business plan, program development, technical and administrative objectives, working in concert with other Branch Heads to achieve these objectives.
    • You will oversee system engineering, prototyping, test and evaluation, and research for: Wireless Systems and Waveforms including 5th Generation (5G) and “future G” Cellular standards, Commercial Non-Terrestrial Networks, Wi-Fi, etc.
    • You will oversee a branch workforce that includes electrical/electronic engineers, network engineers, computer scientists, IT specialists, and telecommunications specialists.
    • You will keep abreast of and evaluates new developments in commercial wireless communications, 5G, Proliferated Low Earth Orbit, Non-Terrestrial Networks, Internet of Things and related technologies.
    • You will anticipate the implications that probable technological changes will have for the branch's projects; and works directly to correct deficiencies or improve the performance of systems, processes, or operations.
    • You will performance evaluations, travel approval, timecard approval, bankcard and purchase request approval, safety and environmental compliance, technical information review prior to public release, personnel and physical security.
    • You will actively support EEO programs and demonstrating a commitment to EEO principles and policies and complying with ongoing special emphasis programs in such areas as the internal management control program objectives outlined in core values.

    Qualification Summary

    In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band NM-03 in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Provide system engineering, prototyping, test & evaluation, or research within one or more of the branch business areas (e.g., commercial wireless communications, 5G, Proliferated Low Earth Orbit, cellular Non-Terrestrial Networks, Internet of Things and related technologies), assists in overseeing technical work and leading new business development.
