    SUMMARY The Solution Engineer (SE) provides technical expertise by architecting, designing, developing, testing, and implementing innovative solutions for the organization. The Solution Engineer will guide the organization to capitalize on the capabilities of the product platform through an understanding of the business needs as per the product roadmap. The Solution Engineer will be responsible for designing and implementing solutions that drive strategic value and accomplish business objectives using the product platform capabilities and integrated apps.

    DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Responsible for the architecture, development, testing and maintenance of Salesforce instances using Apex, Visualforce, JavaScript, SOQL, SOAP and REST web services.
    • Responsible for providing technical guidance toward solutions that leverage Salesforce’s platform capabilities to provide strategic value while meeting digital objectives.
    • Responsible for providing business guidance through an in-depth understanding of the business processes, strategy, and business objectives, as they relate to and can be supported by Salesforce.
    • Ensure all ChildFund IT solutions integrate effectively with the Salesforce platform.
    • Responsible for working with ChildFund divisions to solicit business requirements and develop design specifications that effectively fulfill business needs.
    • Performs business analysis, systems design, programming, testing, debugging and help with product documentation.
    • Use business knowledge and Salesforce leading practices to drive systems design and best in class solutions to business requirements.
    • Build and test modules, applications and reports that meet design specifications and user expectations and adhere to appropriate standards.
    • Responsible for ensuring a high quality of application, operations, and program documentation.
    • Conduct research on hardware and software products to justify recommendations and to support purchasing efforts.
    • Ensure proper controls are in place in the areas of security, access, separation, design, and release standards.
    • Provide leadership through coaching, mentoring, and motivating other developers and administrators.

    **QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE **

    • 4 plus years of experience in software development, analysis, design, and testing.
    • 4 plus years of Salesforce administrator/developer experience including declarative development, Apex coding, web services, triggers, Visualforce, workflow rules, Process Builder, Flow, validation rules, test classes, Lightning Web Components, JavaScript, and SOQL/SOSL.
    • 4 plus years of experience creating and managing roles, profiles, permission sets, users, sharing settings, record types, and reports/dashboards.
    • 4 plus years of experience in multi-platform integrations with Salesforce
    • Functional knowledge of Salesforce data structure and understanding of how to leverage the tool to meet complex process and reporting requirements.
    • 4 plus years of experience in business requirement gathering, analysis, and solution proposal.
    • Importing, exporting, and processing large volumes of data inside and outside of Salesforce. Fluid with the Data Import Wizard and Data Loader.
    • Exposure of full life-cycle Agile and Scrum development environment.
    • Self-motivated and self-starter able to thrive in a small shop environment with little direction.
    • Unique combination of being business-minded and highly analytical while also having a strong and deep technical background in Salesforce.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, adaptability, and ability to simultaneously manage multiple requests/projects.
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and ability to effectively function in a team environment.

    PREFFERRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

    • Experience with Salesforce Managed Packages.
    • Salesforce systems integration experience.
    • Application design experience, specifically Orgs with Large Data Volume.
    • Experience with Salesforce platform boundaries
    • Knowledge of Non-Profit Success Pack.
    • Experience with SQL

    EDUCATION

    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or closely related discipline or equivalent relevant work experience.
    • One or more of the following certifications preferred:
    • Salesforce Certified Administrator
    • Salesforce Certified Platform App Builder
    • Salesforce Certified Developer I

    Required/Desired Foreign Language  Knowledge of Spanish, French or Portuguese will be an added advantage to this position

    Travel Required This position will require occasional travel (up to 5%) to resource poor international locations

    Key Working Relationships: Supervisory:  none

    Internal: Members of the Global IT Department, ChildFund Senior Managers, Directors and Executives, and owners of ChildFund business systems.

    External: NetHope and IT leaders of other NGO’s and consortiums focused on use of IT in Child Development.
