About Childhood Cancer Society
Childhood Cancer Society is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to providing financial and emotional support to families battling pediatric cancer. Our programs combine direct family assistance, wish grants, community engagement, strategic partnerships, and high-impact fundraising experiences to help families during some of their most challenging moments.
Adventure Ted, our superhero spokesbear, represents our philosophy to “See the adventure in all that you do.” We are seeking ambitious, creative, and highly motivated students to join our Communications Team and gain hands-on experience supporting major nonprofit events and campaigns.

This internship is designed to provide more than observational experience. Interns will have the opportunity to contribute to active campaigns with real audiences, partners, fundraising objectives, and event deadlines.
Successful interns can gain experience building professional outreach campaigns from strategy through execution, communicating with external organizations and decision-makers, developing event marketing strategies, and seeing how communications directly contribute to fundraising and nonprofit growth.
Interns who successfully complete the 4-month internship and satisfy deliverable requirements will be eligible for a letter of recommendation from Childhood Cancer Society's Founder/CEO, Tommy Head.
Interns will also gain exposure to senior leadership at Childhood Cancer Society and receive opportunities to build portfolio-ready communications and campaign experience.
Ideal Candidate
We’re looking for students who are resourceful, personable, persistent, creative, and comfortable taking initiative.
The strongest candidates will be excited by the idea of being given a goal—whether that’s securing promotional partners, generating event awareness, identifying media opportunities, or reaching prospective attendees—and developing a thoughtful strategy to help accomplish it.
This internship is especially well suited for students interested in pursuing careers in public relations, communications, marketing, event production, nonprofit leadership, partnerships, hospitality, or fundraising.
