Reporting to the Marketing Manager, the Digital Marketing Specialist plays an integral role in executing a range of online marketing efforts to support Forté’s portfolio of 30+ live events a year. Translating business goals into successful marketing campaigns, the Digital Marketing Specialist will support, develop, implement, track, and optimize digital marketing campaigns from concept to execution.
Responsible for live event-related email marketing, audience generation, social media, event website
management, digital tracking/testing, and reporting, an ideal candidate will have a strong grasp of current marketing tools and strategies, be able to identify target audiences, and devise digital campaigns that engage, inform, and motivate.
Key responsibilities include:
Email marketing — Including copy editing and production (and autoresponders)
- Develop, manage, and design HTML emails for Live event marketing plans; includes creating production timelines, gathering feedback, implementing edits, and executing email through hard-coding and ESP sends.
- Write relevant copy, subject lines, and calls-to-action for segment; tell a cohesive story within each campaign.
- Plan and map email marketing workflows (flowcharts) for event email marketing plans.
- Create responsive, mobile-friendly emails and test for compatibility.
- Manage event email communications calendar, with an emphasis to avoid over-emailing.
- Identify opportunities and make recommendations on email automation.
Audience generation and database maintenance
- Create target audience segmentation in member database and schedule delivery.
- Optimize list management and create best practices for sending.
Social media event marketing
- Manage, execute, and optimize paid & organic Live event social media campaigns.
- Stay on top of trends and provide recommendations for Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Linkedin, and YouTube.
Website (microsite) management
- Update and maintain event microsite content, including Forté and partner/sponsor changes.
- Create and manage registration forms.
- Conduct regular website sweeps to find/fix old or broken content.
Digital tracking, testing, and optimization
- Provide weekly/quarterly metrics on event email performance and overall campaign results.
- Champion A/B and other testing methodology. Plan, execute, and measure experiments and conversion tests.
- Work to minimize list decay and unsubscribes while increasing productivity of email sends.
- Stay current on email marketing best practices.
Reporting & Other
- Measure and report performance of all digital marketing campaigns, and assess against goals (ROI and KPIs).
- Identify trends and insights; optimize spend and performance based on the insights.
- Brainstorm new and creative growth strategies; suggest and develop solutions for integrating technology into each event experience.
