    About Us

    The Childhood Cancer Society (CCS) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to providing emotional and financial support to families affected by pediatric cancer. Through wish grants, community campaigns, and our superhero spokesbear, Adventure Ted, we strive to spread courage, hope, and positivity to children and their families nationwide.

    Position Overview

    We’re seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Events Assistant to support the planning and execution of fundraising and awareness events for our national initiative, The Adventure Ted Challenge. From walkathons to wish grant celebrations, you'll play an important role in delivering joyful, impactful experiences that raise critical support for our mission.

    As an Events Assistant, you'll work directly with seasoned Adventure Ted Challenge Fundraising & Events Coordinators, gaining hands-on experience as you collaborate on events that engage the community and benefit families facing pediatric cancer.

  • Qualifications
    • Assist in the planning and execution of CCS events, including walkathons, fundraisers, and wish grant celebrations

    • Coordinate logistics such as timelines, registration, materials, and setup

    • Support outreach to vendors, sponsors, volunteers, and community partners

    • Collaborate with Communications Interns and Childhood Cancer Society Brand Ambassadors to promote upcoming events

    • Help track RSVPs, donations, and event-related data via platforms like Givebutter or Eventbrite

    • Contribute to post-event follow-up efforts, including thank-you communications and recap materials

  • Desired skills
    • Strong organizational and communication skills

    • Enthusiastic, proactive, and collaborative

    • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines with attention to detail

    • Comfortable using Google Workspace and online platforms (Givebutter, Eventbrite, Canva, etc.)

    • Experience in event planning or nonprofit work is a plus, but not required

    • Availability for occasional weekend or evening events
