DOROT offers semester or year-long internships for college students interested in careers in non-profit management, community organizing, social work and working with older adults.

DOROT’s Intergenerational Program Engagement Dept. (IPE) is seeking a college level intern to assist with in-person programming, bringing older adults and teens together for meaningful partnerships and collaborations. This individual would provide support to the IPE Team by:

Remote/Hybrid

• Support the School Year Teen Internship program

• Manage Virtual Conversations Zoom/matching and monitor teens who are doing home visits

• Check-in with teens and seniors who are late/absent for a program

• Assist with data entry

• Connect with an older adult weekly as part of the Caring Calls Program

In-Person

• Assist with program co-facilitation

• Organize meeting room, gather needed materials, etc.

• Provide support to teaching artist and/or program facilitator during weekly workshop

• Check-in with teens and seniors who are late/absent for a program

• Assist with data entry

• Support the Lead Educator with Sunday Bar/Bar Mitzvah Program

• Connect with an older adult weekly as part of the Caring Calls Program

• Place recruitment calls for school programs, as needed

The ideal candidate has a warm and welcoming personality and is eager to work with older adults and teens, having them build on these connections.

Preferred hours are: 4pm-7pm Eastern, Monday – Thursday; 12pm-2pm Eastern one Sunday per month (typically interns work 8-10 hours/week)
