DOROT offers semester or year-long internships for college students interested in careers in non-profit management, community organizing, social work and working with older adults.
The Impact and Evaluation intern will conduct program impact survey interviews with DOROT seniors, code qualitative data and review studies relevant to DOROT’s mission and evaluation initiatives. In conducting these surveys, this intern will: schedule phone survey interviews with DOROT seniors; record responses online; report concerns to DOROT staff, as needed; sort and code data collected and online survey results. This intern will also assist with research, including: tracking and summarizing trends in aging services, social isolation, intergenerational programs, and volunteer engagement for internal review; document use of assessment tools to help in determining program success indicators.
Preferred hours are: Anytime 9:30am-5pm (Eastern) Monday - Thursday and until 3pm on Friday; (typically interns work 8-10 hours/week) This internship is a remote experience.
DOROT alleviates social isolation among the elderly and provides services to help them live independently as valued members of the community. We serve the Jewish and wider community, bringing the generations together in a mutually beneficial partnership of elders, volunteers and professionals. Our work provides an effective model for others.
