Fisheries Management Intern in Alaska
Interns will count and capture salmon and other resident fish species, (80%), collect basic biological data on fish age and size, (10%), and maintain equipment and manage data, (10%). Throughout this internship selected candidates will achieve a level of scientific understanding of fisheries practices that will provide the basis for sound management of park resources.
By the end of this internship interns will have the ability to identify and count fish to species and sex, proficiently use a variety of fish capture techniques and gear, and proficiently operate small boats on a lake and river.
This position will involve a significant amount of time spent at remote field camps in southwest Alaska. It is essential that interested candidates be:
