    The work of the Disaster Workforce Engagement (DWE) team supports all Disaster Cycle Services programs, resulting in well-prepared workers to carry out our mission. Like the work of a Human Resources department, DWE engages in activities that result in a fully-staffed workforce that is competent, effective and satisfied.

    Interns will participate in the planning and implementation of projects within an area of expertise. Projects assigned are designed to develop professional skills and expertise appropriate to the needs of the organization.

    • Relationship development to provide disaster services volunteers with information they need to meet program needs
    • Identifying information used to meet individuals’ needs and motivations which will drive their future actions in meeting the mission and recording them accurately in their Volunteer Connection profile;
    • Ensuring that active participation occurs early in and throughout the relationship
    • Identifying initial training requirements
    • Maintaining system records to ensure knowledge for future worker development

    Interns are welcome to help with the development of any/all projects of their choosing. Terrific opportunity for Human Resource candidates. Exposure to casework opportunities also available, if desired.
