  • Responsibilities

    PTM provides the opportunity for urban ministry training through its LEAP Year Program where young adults walk alongside students and their families to help PTM students discover and live their God-inspired dreams, develop a love for learning, and build joy-filled friendships that glorify Christ Jesus.

    Overarching responsibilities of this job is to work 40 hr/wk, participate meaningfully in weekly supervision and LEAP cohort meetings, and execute in job description responsibilities.

    Each LEAP year staff has a unique job description based on what makes the LEAP year staff's heart sing and the needs at PTM.

    What are specific LEAP Year Jobs that I can apply for?

    • Assistant Children's Director: The Assistant Children's Director will work FT at the Wilson Center Afterschool Site. The Wilson Center is our largest elementary afterschool site, as it serves 65+ children everyday. Major job duties include building relationships with children, handling discipline in a loving and grace-filled way and making sure classrooms are stocked and resourced.

    • Assistant Youth Director: The Assistant Youth Director will work primarily with the Junior High Students at both Community House and Wilson Center. Major job duties include building relationships with children, handling discipline in a loving and grace-filled way, and planning fall retreat.

    • Assistant Site Director: The Assistant Site Director will assist at one or more of our elementary satellite sites. Satellite sites serve between 20-30 students. Major job duties include building relationships with children, handling discipline in a loving and grace-filled way and making sure classrooms are stocked and resourced.

    • Athletic Director: The Athletic Director will work to create opportunities for PTM Students to be active. Major duties include working with the PTM Life Director to plan character education lessons, organizing students who are interested in Dance for Fitness, and researching additional athletic opportunities for students.

    • Resource Coordinator: The Resource Coordinator will assist the site directors in reproducing and maintaining resources for their site. Major job duties include gathering and reproducing materials for afterschool sites and assisting with other administrative duties.

    • Assistant Program Director/Dream Coach: The Assistant Program Director/Dream Coach will assist the Program Director in maintaining the health and quality of PTM Programming. Major job duties include planning and scheduling Fun Friday Activities, planning weekend field trips for students, and working to develop the Dream Program.

    • Communications Coordinator: The Communications Coordinator will be responsible for maintaining PTM's communication across the organization. Major duties include creating a plan for posting over several social media sites, updating and maintaining the PTM Blog and Newsletter.

    • Assistant Volunteer Coordinator: The Assistant Volunteer Coordinator will be responsible for building relationships with volunteers. Major duties include planning volunteer outreach events, following up with interested parties, and updating the volunteer database.

    • Assistant Event Planner: The Assistant Event Planner will work with the Advancement Team to plan, organize, and execute events. Major duties include completing tasks related to event prep, follow up with interested parties after events, and planning and strategizing for future events.

    • Assistant Director of Literacy: The Assistant Director of Literacy will provide support for the Director of Literacy and Reading Teachers. Major duties include gathering materials for reading teachers and reading groups, brainstorming new strategies to use with students, and standing in as a substitute for absent reading teachers

  • Qualifications

    We are looking to hire young adults who love Jesus with abandon, care deeply for children who are under-resourced, and are hard and efficient workers.

    $750/month + housing + transportation
  • Benefits

    Housing is the major benefit. LEAPers are provided housing through property owned by Preston Taylor Ministries. We provide bus passes or the cost of a bus pass each month for LEAPers. If you choose to stay for 9 months you get 10 days of PTO, or if you choose to stay for the year you get 14 days.
