    The role

    The intern will be responsible for overseeing the creation of an NGO membership page that will ultimately serve to serve as a hub for NGO-related information and connect NGOs to grant makers and other NGOs in the repository. The intern will also leave TechSoup with a strong understanding of NGOsource’s programs and additionally hone his or her marketing and communications skills. He or she will finish the internship with gained knowledge of the inner-workings of international grant making with a specific focus on the NGO perspective.

    Duties

    • He or she will additionally assist in the overhaul of our current NGO categorization system.
    • These projects will also allow the intern to coordinate with many individuals across the NGOsource team.
    • Build NGOsource membership page for the NGOsource website, including grant opportunities, NGO-specific content, etc.
    • Create copies of marketing material targeting NGO audience to distribute in collaboration with Marketing and Communications associate.
    • Implement taxonomy overhaul of NGO activity categorization system.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Must be actively and presently enrolled an accredited college or university at an undergraduate or graduate level.
    • At least moderate experience (6 months – 1 year) with website design

    Knowledge

    • Social networking and non-profit knowledge preferred
    • Web design

    Skills

    • Microsoft Office
    • Diplomacy and teamwork
    • Writing
    • Technical/functional skills needed: website design

    Abilities

    • Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
    • Interact in a professional manner with a wide variety of people.
