    Whether you are looking to grow personally or develop marketable skills for the corporate or professional world, work at Camp Starfish will prepare you for almost anything! Internship programs are available for college credit in many different disciplines. In previous summers, staff with majors in Social Work, Recreation, Sports Science, Wilderness Leadership, Psychology, Education, Business Management and many other subjects were able to spend the summer having fun at camp while still working towards their degree!

    If you join our team as an intern, you will automatically be placed in our Intern Seminar that meets weekly at camp. Our leadership staff and directors are committed to helping make sure you get the most out of your internship opportunity.

    A Camp Starfish as an advisor or Specialist, you are working in a 1:1 environment to teach all kinds of life skills, including making friends, general social skills, and daily ADLs! Responsibilities include setting the daily structure for campers, role modeling appropriate behavior and social skills, and supporting campers when they need it.

  • Qualifications

    Job Responsibilities:

    • Ensure participants safely and successfully engage in daily camp activities, encouraging independence and self-sufficiency.
    • Role model social skills, teach and supervise life skills to help participants build self-confidence and improve self-esteem.
    • Live and work in cabins, in a dormitory-style lodge, and function as a member of the camp community of about 130 staff, domestic and international.

    Successful Candidates Demonstrate:

    • Strong personal integrity, adaptability, emotional intelligence, enthusiasm, patience, resilience and self-control
    • Ability to understand, role model, and adhere to Starfish policies and procedures
    • Willingness and ability to seek and accept supervision and guidance
    • Ready to embrace and accept differences in religion/age/ethnicity/culture/race/gender/sexual orientation and/or other diversities. -Willingness and ability to treat all campers and staff fairly regardless of identity, ability, background, and/or preferences

Using a combination of traditional camp programs combined with an industry-unique one-to-one staff to camper ratio, we have created a different kind of place.
