  • Responsibilities

    A key component to the success of any non-profit organization is its people. As such, it’s no surprise that interns are essential to the success of the Congressional Coalition on Adoption Institute (CCAI), a leader in adoption and foster care policy on Capitol Hill and across the nation.

    Come intern with an organization that makes a national impact and learn about policy and Capitol Hill. Our interns have the opportunity to work with CCAI staff on projects that directly affect the impact of our organization. Whether planning events, fundraising, communicating through social media, engaging Capitol Hill staff and researching legislation and policy, our interns leave CCAI knowing they were able to make a difference in promoting CCAI’s mission of children in families.

    Responsibilities:

    • Policy interns research and stay informed of the current adoption and foster care legislation, reports and studies; correspond with and support congressional staff; and assist CCAI’s Director of Policy in planning, outreach, and logistics for policy events and legislative briefings on Capitol Hill.

  • Qualifications

    Requirements:

    • Prospective candidates should be college juniors or seniors, recent college graduates, or graduate/law students who share an interest in the CCAI’s goals and objectives.
    • Ideal candidates have a passion for children’s issues and policy; excellent academic standing; excellent writing, researching, editing, and analytical skills; and the capability of handling multiple tasks successfully in a fast-paced professional environment.
    • Ideal interns would possess the professionalism necessary to engage people from all walks of life, have a thirst for knowledge, be self-motivated, and have a passion for fighting for vulnerable children around the world in need of loving families.
    • A sense of humor is essential.
