We’re looking for hackers with experience powering the web apps. If you own a strong orientation for impact, read on; we want to galvanize Seattle’s response to homelessness with your help.

    ABOUT SAMARITAN:

Samaritan is an app designed to reveal the journeys of those we pass every day — the single mom on the bus, the grandfather on the street, the homeless teen outside the supermarket — and provide an effective, cashless way to respond.

BLE beacons are distributed to individuals through nonprofit partners, such that if you have the Samaritan app, you’ll receive a push notification as you pass by a beacon holder, with the opportunity to read a slice of the person’s life or contribute a needed good or service (such as food, fuel or clothing).

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Actualize product feedback into a better API and backend that enables samaritans to give, beacon holders to grow, and nonprofits to help
    • Collaborate with two mobile and two backend developers in an agile product process, where we track velocity, refuse to build anything unless it's asked for, and seek metrics about stakeholders so we can proactively delight them
    • Help capture and visualize unparalleled data on people's progress from homeless to housed
