Social Media Interpretive Ranger Intern
This intern would be primarily responsible for developing the non-personal interpretive material for a cell phone app through OnCell for the Overmountain Victory National Historic Trail. The intern would be responsible for working with partners along the trail corridor to develop content for the different points highlighted in the app. The intern would then be responsible for distilling the information down to an “app-friendly” length.
The intern would also work with interpretive staff with the NPS to ensure the information is correct and works for the overall interpretive strategy for the trail and the NPS as a whole. This intern would also be responsible for working with NPS staff to develop a social marketing campaign to highlight the 50thanniversary for the National Trails System. This will include social media posts, videos, and working with partners for sponsoring guided hikes at different trail segments along the corridor. Finally, the intern will assist in the planning, organizing, and management of a regional trails symposium hosted by the OVNHT. If the intern has the interest, they will also have the opportunity to do trail work with NPS staff.
SCA’s mission is to build the next generation of conservation leaders and inspire lifelong stewardship of the environment and communities by engaging young people in hands-on service to the land.
