Spend an incredible summer, as a part of a wonderful, growing camp community!

Camp Zeke is a Jewish overnight camp in Lakewood, PA that celebrates healthy, active living. We offer a full culinary arts and baking program for campers, along with various fitness electives and a variety of traditional sports. We also offer a many other camp activities including music, arts and crafts, theater arts, hiking and circus arts.

Camp Zeke is seeking enthusiastic and mission-aligned song leaders to work from June 25th to August 13th. We seek to hire song leaders who will become an integral part of the Camp Zeke family and join us every summer for the foreseeable future. 

Song Leaders live in air conditioned cabins with the campers and are responsible for the overall well being of the campers.

• Song leaders at Camp Zeke take on many different roles in camp. Song leaders can be counselors, unit heads, and program specialists. In addition to their other responsibilities, our song leaders bring joy, music, and spirited dance to the Camp Zeke community.

• Our song leaders lead and teach American and Hebrew folk songs in camp-wide song and dance sessions after meals, during Jewish programs, in campfire settings, and during various down times throughout the day.

• We aspire to have a culture of spontaneous singing, dancing, and music. Nobody is more important to implementing this culture than our song leaders.

• Our song leaders will assist in all other areas of camp as needed and join all aspects of camp life. The successful employee takes on numerous roles in the camp community, outside of their job description, to make the experience more safe, fun, joyful, and enriching for campers and staff.

Song Leaders should be able to play a portable instrument and to lead joyful singing.

The successful candidate would have:

• Experience in leading singing for groups

• Have a repertoire of songs that they are comfortable teaching/leading

• Be able to engage our campers and staff to actively participate and to learn the songs.

• A degree in music education is helpful, as is prior camp experience.

• Song leaders should have completed at least one year of college.

Ability to play an instrument and to lead singing.
