Gain event planning experience while working closely with the Steamboat Springs Chamber Resort Associations’ Special Events department. Learn vital skills through event coordination, sponsorship fulfillment, marketing, and economic development.

• Work closely with Special Events Director & Event Coordinator in marketing and promoting events and event production logistics.

• Assist in event planning including sponsorship management, event layouts, community outreach, and supply management.

• Attend all events, assist in responsibilities of site logistics, including but not limited to: set up, volunteer recruitment/placement, vendor placement, participant safety, parking, site maintenance, food service, clean up and breakdown.

• Sponsorship fulfillment which includes but is not limited to: delivering sponsor packets, pick-up and delivery of sponsor banners.

• Work under the Marketing department’s direction to create content for the Chamber’s various channels including but not limited to: social media and blogs.

• Assist with summer visitor’s research by executing intercept survey on a weekly basis.

• Work alongside Economic Development Director to implement business intercept survey and local business photo catalog.

Interns must be available mid May until September, willing to work three days a week on non-event weeks and all week (including weekends) on event weeks. Interns must be available and attend all special events to be considered for the internship:

• Steamboat Marathon- June 2-4
• Mustang Roundup- June 15-18
• Cowboys' Roundup Days- July 1-4
• Hot Air Balloon Rodeo- July 8-9
• Wild West Air Fest- September 2
