Performs a variety of accounting activities involved in the processing, analysis, and reporting of financial information. Works under general supervision following generally accepted accounting principles and established policies and procedures
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for processing routine accounting transactions, reviewing supporting documentation, and preparing journal entries to accounting system.
- Reconcile and analyze selected general ledger accounts and activities.
- Prepare and/or analyze financial reports.
- Process payments for contractors and other operating reimbursements, as required.
- Responsible for coordinating, reviewing, and providing support documentation for annual audit.
- Provide technical support to Country Offices and GFAST team.
- Provide support for grant and non-sponsorship program (NSP) accounting processes.
- Work on special projects and perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE
- 3 - 5 years of experience in accounting
- Knowledge and understanding of generally accepted accounting principals
- Ability to perform accounting work of simple-to-moderate complexity; to read and interpret bookkeeping and accounting records and reports; to meet deadlines; and to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
- Strong analytical and research skills
- Experience working with computer based accounting systems, spreadsheets, and word-processing software
EDUCATION Associates degree in Accounting or related field or equivalent relevant work experience; Bachelor’s degree preferred
