  • Responsibilities

    DOROT’s Summer College Internship Program is offered through a variety of departments and is well matched for college students interested in careers in non-profit management, education, social media, social work, and gerontology. Interns have a direct impact on the organization and hold significant responsibilities that contribute to departmental goals. Though the responsibilities may vary, all DOROT interns gain an educational understanding of social isolation amongst the elderly as well as substantive work and project management experience.

    Intern responsibilities may include:

    • Coordinating and facilitating intergenerational programming for teen interns
    • Supporting the collection of key program data through updating databases, tracking client participation, and conducting program analysis
    • Participating in DOROT programs including Friendly Visiting, Response Team, and Senior Cafe
    • Creating and curating social media content
    • Conducting outreach to volunteers and clients to increase engagement in programming
    • Helping to develop online video conference curriculum for DOROT's University Without Walls
