This position is located within the National Conservation Training Center’s (NCTC) Division of Training. The intern will work with the Training Administration Branch Chief and other Division staff to support project work to implement a new platform (software) for learning management. The transition to this system will occur throughout FY2018 and FY2019 for a new system launch projected for the fall of 2018. The intern will be learning how to use the existing system (DOI Learn) and working with a team of learning management specialists to transition existing program materials from one system to the other (DOI Talent).

Among other things, the intern will:

• Manage classes in the current learning management system (LMS) to understand system functionality (DOI Learn). Will act as the point of contact for an assigned set of training courses.
• Help to prepare existing training data for transfer into the new LMS by working with staff experts to review migrated system data and ensure it is complete (i.e. reviewing employee records and course records for accuracy, building new class sessions and migrating student rosters).
• Conduct a role review for system users with elevated privileges.
• Assist with the creation of training for use in the launch of the new learning management system for users with elevated roles to take to gain access to the system. This training will be developed using a blended distance learning approach using a Moodle based platform and will be customized to be agency specific to the Fish and Wildlife Service.
• Participate on a work team to update the Training Administration Branch’s Google website to align with new system functionality by updating and creating job aids and current google sheets and checklists.
