City Vision Internships is a Christian one-year, multi-year or summer internship program based on the AmeriCorps model. Interns serve at one of over 40 positions across the USA and Canada.

This specific opportunity is with the Compton Initiative.

• Assisting in planning and executing the quarterly workday with the Compton Initiative Coordinator
• 50% of the job will include utilizing computer software (MS Office) for logistics of operations (Data entry, signage creation, volunteer database, etc)
• 50% of the job will be outdoors in the City working hands-on beautification activities (painting homes, murals, yard removal etc.)
• Assisting volunteers at worksite to complete beautification tasks
• Communicating effectively with volunteers to encourage participation in the Compton Initiative
• Demonstrating interest and desire for community development in Compton
• Maintenance and content creation of social media

• At least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or equivalent (GED)
• Must be a Christian
• Must be U.S. or Canadian citizen, U.S. or Canadian national or lawful permanent resident alien, or have a valid visa allowing work or volunteering
• Able to make at least a one year (or summer) commitment (may be extended by mutual agreement)
• Experience in community, campus, or similar involvement
• Strong writing and public speaking skills
• Computer proficiency including Microsoft Office Suite
• Ability to lift 40-50lbs (tools, equipment, etc.)
• Valid driver’s license and good driving record (own reliable transportation strongly preferred)
• Spanish speaking preferred
• Completed at least 60 college units

1-2 year internships program with hands-on nonprofit experience providing free tuition (undergrad or graduate).
