Basic Function:

Serve as an intern on the Ministry Engagement team at Buckner Children and Family Services in Longview, TX. The Ministry Engagement Intern will directly assist the Project Coordinator and other CFS team members. Internship duration is August 1 – December 15 and we are looking for an applicant that can serve between the hours of 8:30-5:00, Monday - Friday for 10-15 hours a week. Dates and hours can be flexible based on course requirements.

This is a non-paid, volunteer internship. This internship will include some evening and weekend opportunities. Candidates may be subject to pre-placement drug testing based on agency requirements.

Objectives:

In our Texas ministries, we rely on volunteers to help us serve our clients. The Volunteer Engagement department supervises approximately 7,000 volunteers each year in Texas. We are looking for an intern who is willing to help us with administrative work, team planning, research, and quality improvement. As an intern in this position, tasks would fall under the following categories:

• Assist in planning and organizing the School Supply Train for Buckner CFS Longview
• Assist in the planning and organizing of Christmas party for local Buckner families
• Work with Ministry Engagement Coordinator to maintain volunteer records via our online database
• Assist staff in all local programs as a mentor or facilitating activities and events.

The intern will gain experience in the following areas:

• Working within CRM, our volunteer database

• Research and application of findings

• Working with children

• Volunteer coordination and event planning
