Join us in the beautiful Santa Cruz Mountains at Camp Krem! Two weekends every month, we host weekend camps for children and adults with developmental disabilities. Counselors are responsible for the safety, supervision and overall well-being of our campers.
Year-Round Respite Program Counselors are the primary caregivers for each camper and are responsible for the overall wellness, safety, and direct supervision of the campers during Camp Krem Year-Round Respite Program events. Counselors are also responsible for the general happiness of their campers and therefore, are required to assist their campers in participating in all camp activities fully and enthusiastically.
Camper safety and welfare is your paramount responsibility, and their enjoyment your second most important responsibility. Your own welfare and interests are subordinate to theirs. Depending on the campers assigned to you, duties may also include conducting daily skin checks, feeding, bathing, tooth-brushing, toileting, changing (and if necessary washing) clothing, changing diapers/pull-ups, keeping your cabin and Camp Krem grounds clean and tidy. You are part of a team and are expected to support other team members as necessary; in turn, they will support you. The job can be both physically and emotionally challenging and can include strenuous activities and long hours. When working a Camp Krem event, you are on call 24 hours a day.
Camp Krem is a summer camp and year-round recreation program for children and adults with developmental disabilities, located in Boulder Creek, California.
