Harmonium offers the PrimeTime extended school day programs for children K-8th grade throughout the San Diego Unified School District. More than 4,000 elementary and middle school students participate in this free program daily.
Essential Functions
Communication:
Develop and maintain positive, professional relationships with school site, parents, children and Harmonium staff
Communicate with parents regarding their child on a daily basis
Agency Leadership:
Job Complexity:
Supervise day-to-day activities of the program while maintaining ratios within contract
Redirect inappropriate child behavior and provide disciplinary action and notify Program Specialist when necessary
Provide academic homework assistance
Accountability:
Maintain a clean and orderly designated school space
Ensure the safety, security, and well-being of students enrolled in the program
Decision Making:
Our Activity Leaders take all steps necessary to ensure the safety, security, and well- being of the children enrolled in the program, while providing a fun and engaging learning environment for all children.
Qualifications
Minimum Competencies:
18 years of age or older
Pass CAPE test or have a minimum of 48 completed college units
A minimum of 6 months experience working and/or volunteering in an after school or group child care setting with elementary aged children
Valid Pediatric CPR and First Aid certification required
Demonstrated ability in sports, special interests and hobbies, and/or arts & crafts
Ability to relate well to children and adults
Must pass TB and Fingerprint Clearance upon hire.
Retirement plan match maximum 2% of annual salary (403b); CA Paid Sick Leave accrued at 1 hour per 30 hours worked with a maximum accrual of 24 hours per calendar year.
