What You’ll Do…
This position is located in Houston, TX. Our intern program philosophy is to “recruit once, hire twice” with the hope to hire interns back into full-time or return internship roles.
The internship program assignments are 10-14 weeks in duration and are full-time in-person internships. The summer 2026 internship is expected to begin on May 17, 2026.
**Your Key Responsibilities: **
- Contribute to the design, development, and enhancement of cloud-based drilling software used for well planning, engineering, and operational decision support.
- Develop and test software components, services, or APIs that support Landmark’s drilling and well construction applications.
- Support SaaS product deployment, configuration, and operational readiness, including performance, reliability, and scalability considerations.
- Collaborate with Product Management, R&D, and domain experts to translate drilling workflows and customer requirements into technical solutions.
- Assist with data integration and system interoperability, connecting drilling applications with upstream and downstream data sources.
- Participate in code reviews, testing, debugging, and documentation to ensure high-quality, maintainable software.
- Contribute to proofs of concept and prototyping for new digital drilling capabilities, including automation and decision-support features.
- Present technical progress and findings to engineering leads, product teams, and leadership, gaining exposure to high-visibility initiatives.
- Work in the Product Management and Business Development organization to better understand product offerings.
- Collaborate with Landmark executives and gain leadership experience while working on a high-visibility product.
What You’ll Bring to Our Team
**Required Qualifications: **
- Strong foundation in computer science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, object-oriented design, and software engineering principles.
- Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Angular, Python, C++, Java, or C#.
- Familiarity with software development practices, including version control (e.g., Git), DevOps, debugging, and testing.
- Understanding cloud computing concepts (e.g., SaaS, microservices, APIs, containers, or distributed systems).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to learn complex technical domains.
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Physics, Geoscience, Geophysics, or a related technical discipline.
- Reliable transportation to and from work daily is required.
- Unrestricted authorization to work in the United States both now and in the future; Halliburton will not sponsor applicants for work visas for this position.
**Desired Qualifications: **
- Coursework or project experience related to engineering software, scientific computing, or industrial systems**.**
- Exposure to drilling, well construction, subsurface, or energy-domain applications (academic or internship-based).
- Experience working with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
- Familiarity with REST APIs, microservices architectures, or containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Experience with data-intensive systems, including time-series or operational data.
- Interest in applying software engineering to real-world industrial and engineering problems.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
- A self-starter with curiosity, initiative, and a willingness to take ownership of technical tasks.
- A self-starter with leadership capabilities, innovative ideas and the ability to effectively express ideas to team members, project stakeholders, and management.
- Be able to partner with different functions within the Landmark organization such as Marketing and Research & Development.

Salary Range: $26/hour for students pursuing a Bachelor’s degree; $31/hour for students pursuing a Master’s; $36/hour for those pursuing a PhD
