What You’ll Do…

These positions are located at our R&D Facility in Houston.  Our intern program philosophy is to “recruit once, hire twice” with the hope to hire interns back into full-time or return internship roles.  

The internship program assignments are 10-14 weeks in duration and are full-time hybrid internships.  The summer 2024 internship is expected to begin on May 20, 2024.  

**Your Key Responsibilities: **

• Under direct supervision, develops chemical products and processes by providing chemical and/or engineering analysis, testing, simulations, design construction of apparatus, data acquisition systems, and associated instrument maintenance and calibration
• Produces data by using basic chemistry, fluid mechanics and geomechanical concepts to enhance product development
• Incorporates new design/techniques to accomplish project goals in product development
• Incorporates HSE awareness, regulations, best practices, product/process reliability and quality into the development of products and processes

**Projects you could potentially work on include: **

• Research, create and help drive new innovative well construction materials and methods involving cement and sealant compositions, chemical additives, and fluid circulation processes.
• Contribute to the documentation and delivery of well construction materials and methods
• Apply company and industry standards to new product development
• Proactively learning about new technologies  
• Work with stakeholders, product managers, technical advisors, and others to understand technology requirements and design.

What You’ll Bring to Our Team

**Required Qualifications: **

• Reliable transportation to and from work daily is required.
• Unrestricted authorization to work in the United States both now and in the future; Halliburton will not sponsor applicants for work visas for this position.
• Degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Civil Engineering, Petroleum Engineering
• Experience with chemical formulations, inorganic and organic materials, synthesis, and measurement characterization methods
• Ability & desire to work with a multi-disciplinary (chemistry, engineering, mechanical & software) team

**Desired Qualifications: **

• Prior intern, co-op, or research experience
• Strong analytical and technical skills
• Well-developed written and verbal communication skills
• Self-motivated and results-oriented  
• Strong problem-solving abilities  
• Excellent oral and written communication skills  
• Understanding of cement and well cementing practices 
• Knowledge and experience on using of high temperature and high pressure equipment 
• Prior experience in chemicals and materials testing pertaining to Oil and Gas Industry is preferred, but not a must
