What You’ll Do…
These positions are located at our R&D Facilities in Carrollton, Texas and Spring, Texas. Our intern program philosophy is to “recruit once, hire twice” with the hope to hire interns back into full-time or return internship roles.
The internship program assignments are 10-14 weeks in duration and are full-time on-site internships. The summer 2027 internship is expected to begin on May 23, 2027.
Your Key Responsibilities:
Projects you could potentially work on include:
- Research emerging technologies and contribute innovative ideas for new software applications, tools, and components.
- Design, develop, and test software applications using modern development frameworks and cloud technologies.
- Participate in debugging, troubleshooting, and resolving software defects.
- Contribute to software documentation, technical specifications, and deployment activities.
- Follow established coding standards, development processes, and best practices.
- Collaborate with product owners, architects, developers, and business stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver solutions.
- Participate in Agile development activities, including sprint planning, code reviews, and team meetings.
- Continuously learn and apply new technologies, tools, and software engineering techniques.
- Present project progress, findings, and recommendations to technical and business audiences.
Skills We Are Seeking
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience with at least one programming language such as C#/.NET or Python.
- Understanding of object-oriented programming principles and software design concepts.
- Familiarity with relational databases and SQL.
- Experience with development tools such as Visual Studio, Azure DevOps, Git, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Familiarity with GitHub Copilot, Microsoft Copilot, or other AI-assisted software development tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Self-motivated, result-oriented, and eager to learn new technologies.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team.
- Exposure to web application development, cloud-native applications, AI/ML, or generative AI technologies is a plus.
What You’ll Bring to Our Team
Required Qualifications:
- Reliable transportation to and from work daily is required.
- Unrestricted authorization to work in the United States both now and in the future; Halliburton will not sponsor applicants for work visas for this position.
- Degree in Computer Science/Computer Engineering/Data Science
- Experience with Microsoft Azure or any programming languages including C#, ASP.NET Core, Python, Angular, React Native
- Ability & desire to work with a multi-disciplinary team
Desired Qualifications:
- Prior intern, co-op, or research experience
- Strong analytical and technical skills
- Self-motivated and results-oriented
- Strong problem-solving abilities
- Knowledge of using developer tools like MS Visual Studio and GitHub Copilot
- Experience or interest in leveraging Generative AI tools to enhance software development workflows, including requirements analysis, code generation, testing, documentation, and knowledge discovery.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility. To qualify, your university and/or permanent address must be more than 50 miles from your work location.

Salary Range: $26/hour for students pursuing a Bachelor’s degree; $31/hour for students pursuing a Master’s degree; $36/hour for students pursuing a PhD
