WHAT IS THE GRADUATE PROGRAM?

Our Graduate Programme is a rigorous development framework of specific competences, business-critical capabilities, and critical experiences that will enable you to become a competitive professional by the end of your 3-year programme.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/JOB DESCRIPTION: PROCESS DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER

The Process Development Scientist/Engineer is responsible for designing, coordinating, and executing experimental laboratory and pilot plant studies to develop new or improved manufacturing processes in _chemicals, biochemicals, biofuels, and new energies _for multiple Shell businesses. Key activities can include:

• Planning and guiding experimental programs (laboratory - bench - pilot scale).
• Performing data analysis and reporting results, documenting the results of experimental studies and making recommendations for future action.
• Planning and coordinating operational campaigns, including logistics, resourcing, operational conditions, analysis scheme and modifications to units.
• Conceptual process modeling - process design.
• Designing and implementing experimental laboratory and pilot plant set ups.
• Performing safety reviews for experimental equipment set ups and operation.
• Recommending patent action arising from research programs.
• Sharing best practices in area of process development and providing challenge/expertise to other projects.

Desired Skills:

• Background/experience in experimental studies and process development.
• Experience with operation of experimental facilities.
• Experience in chemical, biochemical, or biofuels processes, and/or chemical circularity.
• Modeling background and the ability to use/ learn process simulation tools.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.

• To be eligible for the Shell Graduate Program, you should be in your final year of study, pursuing a PhD in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry, or have less than three years of relevant work experience.
• You must have a minimum Cumulative GPA (CGPA) of 3.20
• Candidates for regular U.S. positions must be a U.S. citizen or national, an alien admitted as permanent resident, refugee, asylee, temporary resident, or an individual who possesses valid work authorization. Individuals with temporary visas (H-1, H-2, J-1, F-1, etc.) or who require sponsorship for work authorization now or in the future are not eligible for hire.
• In some instances, we are able to provide work authorization sponsorship for PhD and Master’s candidates in certain disciplines.
