Dow Jones internships are currently planned for in person this Summer 2022, however, the ever-changing landscape may require adjustments toward hybrid or fully remote models.

The successful candidate will be used to help advance the development of projects like our ESG/Sustainability product (aka WSJ Elevate) and help the team improve our tools for feed delivery. The candidate will also continue to improve our performance of our tools and databases. The candidate will also get exposure to cutting edge technologies using cloud technologies.

Primary Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

• Working hard, asking tons of questions, and making mistakes (and then learning how to fix them)
• Develop tools that make the engineering process better, including build, test, and deployment tools
• Passion for promoting high-quality software, but not so much shortcuts and hacks
• Engage with a team of mentors in an Agile environment
• Make connections for long-term career growth

Knowledge/Experience Preferred:

• Must be pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Knowledge of Relational Databases including database design, SQL scripting, and stored procedures, or familiarity with Google Data Studio.
• Experience with web based technologies such as: HTML, CSS, HTML5, JavaScript, jQuery, ASP.Net MVC, IIS, WCF, REST, JSON, IoC, Angular, React
• Experience with software development tools like Git and Jenkins
• Excellent communications skills
• A plus: exposure to AWS, Terraform, or Jenkins
