Summer 2023 Internship - Sales Planning & Development
About the Role:
The Sales Planning & Development Internship is part of the Multi-Media Sales Team of The Wall Street Journal|Barron's Group. In this role, you will gain a valuable understanding of how a revenue-generating team operates throughout the lifecycle of a deal. You will experience our sales process and gain an understanding of WSJ digital products to recommend based on advertisers KPIs. You will learn about digital order management & reporting systems while receiving exposure to the entire pre & post sales cycle. In addition, you will develop foundational skills which can be applied to other media-based roles.
This role is hybrid, based in our New York City office.
You Will:
Gain a basic understanding of digital advertising and learn about our own digital process
Assist with launching digital campaigns in a timely manner, including requesting assets for launch
Support the Planning team with billing process by confirming billable amounts (1st or 3rd party)
Provide screenshots the day of campaign launch
Ensure all contracted media placements deliver as scheduled by sending calendar invites or reminders for buyouts/sponsorships
Support the sales team with sale digital campaigns securing space availabilities and reservations; entering IO to reserve inventory for all incoming accounts
Assist with research for proposals and special projects as needed
Request 3rd party reporting access
You Have:
A demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast paced environment while managing multiple projects and tight deadlines.
Analytical, strategic, and creative problem solving skills
Strong computer application skills (MS Office, Google Suite)
Attention to detail and are highly motivated
You are currently enrolled in a Business, Finance, Marketing, Liberal Arts Major
