    Job Description

    A Welding Engineer develops, manages, recommends, and coordinates the implementation of a sound welding program and processes through improved weld processes, design specification review, techniques, inspections, and safety procedures.

    Responsibilities:

    • Establish and document welding processes in accordance with national and military standards and/or specifications.
    • Review welding procedures, processes, and documentation.
    • Develops and executes weld qualification procedures.
    • Creates, submits, and manages WPS(s).
    • Works with management to identify problems and recommend resolutions of welding processes, issues and concerns.
    • Directly interface with the product design engineering team to ensure design for process and manufacturing requirements are addressed and met.
    • Assist and support manufacturing, other support groups, and training center as it relates to weld processes, weld related defects (to include the assistance with repair/rework dispositions to address defects), weld sequencing, and any other weld related needs.
    • Keep abreast of state-of-the-art welding technologies and safety procedures used throughout the industry.
    • Performs all other job-related duties as assigned by management.

    Qualifications

    Education Requirements:

    Pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical, Welding, Manufacturing, Metallurgy, or Industrial Engineering.

    Position Requirements:

    • Demonstrated technical knowledge of material reactions during welding or other manufacturing process is desirable.
    • Demonstrated or proven individual contributor and team player within a mid-size organization.
    • Ability to work independently and closely with a diverse group of people in a team environment.
    • Knowledge of software programs such as AutoCAD, ProE, SolidWorks, Project, MS Word, Outlook and Excel.
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
    • Demonstrated problem identification or analytical resolution skills using statistical comprehension methods.
    • Ability to interface effectively and efficiently with peers, employees, and management within and across the organization.
