Summary Statement AARP Maryland is seeking aCommunity Outreach Intern IIwith an interest in the following areas and to be based in our downtownBaltimore office. * Fraud and Scam Prevention * Supporting Caregivers * Livable Communities * Jobseeker Resources Responsibilities The intern will staff events and attend meetingsand in order to do so, will need to take the time to learn AARP systems (i.e., the Volunteer Portal), AARP issues and AARPs culture based on the Enterprise Plan and to enhance their ability to serve as a good steward to the organization while in the field. The candidate will also assist in our annual Harvest for the Hungry Caign efforts and will serve as one of the main points of contact for hundreds of volunteers who carry out this spring food drive. It will be the job of the intern to maintain correspondence, answer questions and ensure all food drive partners and AARP volunteers have the tools and direction they need to carry out the food drive. Requirements Interns must be currently enrolled in a degreed program at an accredited college or university; maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0; and be considered rising first or second year graduate students. AARP also considers non-traditional interns who are looking to re-enter the workforce or change careers. This may include those who have previously graduated college and are now enrolled in a continuing education program.Additional requirements include: The intern should possess administrative strengths including excellent writing skills, must be comfortable working with volunteers, have an understanding of database management, and have reliable transportation.
