SUMMARY

A growing manufacturer in Columbus, IN is looking for an Indirect Commodity Buyer to join their team! This individual will implement sourcing strategies for a global supply chain through reviewing spend, assessing market conditions, evaluating performance, and identifying trends.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Select sources for indirect material commodities
• Work cross-functionally and lead teams throughout the buying process
• Create a strategic advantage through material and process cost evaluation, effective negotiations, and contract management
• Manage suppliers through site visits and the development of a common strategy
• Negotiate contracts and write new contracts with vendors and suppliers
• Assist with budget creation and management

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in a related field
• Experience in SAP and/or AS400 is a plus
• Ability to read and understand drawings
• Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) or Association for Supply Chain Management (APICS) certification is a plus
