Job Description
A prominent Manufacturing company in the Metro Detroit Area is looking for a Customer Service Representative to their team. Our client is looking to add to their expanding customer service group focused on having the right people and products in the right place and right time to ensure customer satisfaction.
This is a direct hire CUSTOMER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE opportunity, meaning you will be hired permanently with our client and offered their competitive benefit and vacation package upon hire.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Answer incoming calls, faxes and email from customers and process new part orders
- Provide answers to simple technical questions regarding products and parts
- Conduct research of bills of material (BOM) and engineering drawings to identify correct replacement parts for customers’ specific model(s)
- Issue Returned Material Authorizations (RMAs) and track RMA activity within the facility
- Use internal Materials Resource Planning System (MRP) to generate quotes for orders
- Follow up on all open quotes to pursue potential sales and record reasons for unconverted quotes
- Use telemarketing and other marketing techniques to support departmental Parts Marketing Programs to grow business
- Provide back up within and outside the department as needed
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:
- 1-3 years of Customer Service in a manufacturing or distribution center required
- Associates Degree within Marketing or Communications preferred
- 1-3 years of experience processing parts orders and RMAs
- Skilled with reading and analyzing BOMs
- Previous experience with an MRP/ERP system preferred
- Experience developing and maintaining positive customer relationships
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
