Under the supervision of a Community Development Manager, the intern will learn all aspects involved in planning and implementing community based for the 2018 Young Professionals Finding a Cure Gala. The intern will learn about trends by observing the Community Manager as they identify ways to increase fundraising and mission education through events, they will learn how social media is used to increase ACS awareness, and learn how a Community Development Manager retains volunteers through recognition. In addition, by job shadowing the Community Development Managers, the intern will learn how to execute large scale events involving recruitment of sponsorships, teams, and committee members. This internship will also provide the learnings of the professional aspect of working for a nonprofit. Position Requirements Start date of August 27, 2018 and ending on December 14, 2018 Minimum hours would be between 8-12 hours a week, including monthly Young Professionals Finding a Cure council meetings. The purpose of this internship is to shadow the Community Manager, and help provide feedback on ways we can increase revenue while leading with the mission. Weekly requirements will include supporting the Young Professionals Finding a Cure Council. Internship is nonpaid, but candidates can receive school credit. Must be experienced with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Must have computer skills and willing to learn ACS websites and social media platforms. Must possess customer service and marketing skills. Must have background knowledge of marketing procedures and business management knowledge. Must become familiar with recruitment of sponsors, event attendees, etc. Must become familiar with and abide by HIPAA guidelines during their internship due to the confidential nature of the situations they may encounter. Must possess background knowledge of ACS programs and services and events, mainly Young Professionals Finding a Cure, as well as be able to speak to the mission statement of the organization. - (P) Apply Now
