INTERNSHIP OVERVIEW The Human Resources Department of the ACLUs National Office in New York City is seeking applicants for a spring 2019 internship. This internship is for rising undergraduate juniors or seniors or equivalent interested in business or Human Resources careers in the non-profit space. Interns will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in a fast-paced, team environment where they can expect to gain meaningful hands-on experience on a broad range of HR activities. Based on the candidates background and interests, they will be matched to a role within the HR department in benefits, operations, recruitment, or innovation. The internship is part-time and requires a semester-long commitment. A stipend is available for those students who do not receive outside funding and/or course credit. ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES - Assisting with executing employee activities and engagement events - Assisting with the creation and updating of processes, procedures and materials - Updating and maintaining databases and files - Posting positions to job boards and websites and performing related follow-up - Assisting with special projects as needed EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS - Excellent research, writing, analytical and communication skills - Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite - Strong attention to detail - Ability to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment - Highly motivated and organized - Authorization to work in the United States - Interest in civil rights and civil liberties and commitment to the mission of the ACLU HOW TO APPLY Please send a cover letter describing your interest, including any relevant life or work experience; a current resume; the details of your availability; and a list of three references to HRJobsADMU@aclu.org.
