    Internship - Special Events (unpaid) The American Diabetes Association

    is proud to announce the availability of an internship with our Special Events team! This internship presents the opportunity to contribute to the Association's dynamic special events efforts while gaining invaluable experience in public relations and communication. This internship is a great opportunity for someone pursuing a career in marketing, public health, nutrition, non-profit and/or event production. The ideal candidate must be energetic, a team player, results-oriented and dedicated to the achievement of personal and team goals. This internship requires a candidate with confidence in interpersonal communication and public speaking, excellent writing skills, and a passion for making a difference in the lives of people with and affected by diabetes. Responsibilities * Assist in mission outreach to donors, businesses, sponsors, and volunteers by phone and mail for engagement in the Associations signature events * Assist with mailings and package assembly * Utilizes social network platforms to promote events * Attend designated and promotional local Association events, and assist staff as necessary * Tackle area strategies through research * Other duties as assigned * Commitment to a flexible work schedule of at least 15 hours per week during standard business hours, with occasional nights and weekends * A tech savvy approach and willingness to learn * Knowledge of event management preffered * Strong writing, editing and proofreading skills * Self-motivated, detail-oriented and strong organizational skills * Ability to work independently and with Association staff * Strong customer service skills ## Take Your Education on a Mission Are you looking for an internship that directly impacts your community and beyond?
