  • Responsibilities

    CALIBRE Systems, Inc., an Employee-Owned Management Consulting and Digital Transformation company , is seeking a Senior Employment Facilitator for DOL TAP (Department of Labor Transition Assistance Program). Each year, an estimated 200,000 servicemen and women separate from the United States military; resulting in new Veterans returning to civilian life. Many separating Service Members have plans upon transition, while many others encounter challenges in preparing for civilian positions, seeking employment, and integrating their skills into new careers. The Senior Employment Facilitator is responsible for guiding the transitioning military Service Members in identifying goals, while also assisting them with recognizing any employment or education gaps.

    Conduct large group, classroom instruction and provide individual counseling on the job search process.

    Provide Transitioning Service Members (Active, Reserve, National Guard), family members, and Veterans a comprehensive understanding of preparing for civilian employment, job searching, job application processes, networking, technical training opportunities, credentialing, and assistance in preparing for civilian employment and participation in technical programs and schools; and who can conduct large group instruction and provide counseling on the job search process.

    Facilitate job search and process workshops with curriculum and activities created specifically for Spouses, Veterans, and Wounded Warriors.

    Mentor and assist in the training of Employment Facilitators new to the program.

    Required Skills

    • Possess comprehensive understanding of challenges facing the Transitioning Service Member population as it pertains to employment and economic opportunity.
    • Knowledge of the civilian workplace, translating military skills/language, assessing job market, and researching/interpreting job requirements
    • The ability to communicate effectively with military clients, be observant of others, comfortable with one -on-one engagements, and respond to enquiries independently
    • Excellent time management skills and able to work independently
    • Be proficient in MS Windows and Office
    • Able to travel as needed

    Required Experience

    Required Experience:

    • Experience which demonstrates understanding of private and public sector employment processes
    • Three years of employment counseling or career counseling experience

    · Previous experience which demonstrates an understanding of recruitment, hiring, and effective job-seeking skills in private and public sectors

    · Knowledge of military culture and experience working with military personnel is a plus

    Required Education:

    • Associate’s degree
    • High School diploma and four years of experience working as a Workforce Solutions, Workforce Development, Career Counselor, Human Resources (HR) Specialist and/or experience in employment counseling, vocational counseling, guidance, placement counseling, rehabilitation counseling or educational counseling.
