Responsibilities Comply with safety practices, rules, and regulations while performing job duties and follow company procedure in reporting unsafe conditions or practices. Safely drive and operate company vehicles, digger derrick, backhoes, boom and pole trucks, fork lift, and safely operate power tools.Facilitate alignment, movement, or adjustment of machinery, equipment, or materials.Verify proper grounding of truck.Assist in performing maintenance as needed.Assist with washing and maintaining equipment in proper working order.Assist with cleaning protective equipment (hot sticks and rubber goods) and keep PPE in good condition.Be in close proximity of work area to anticipate the needs of the crew, prepare tools and operate equipment for crew members for the particular work being performed. Load, unload, or identify building materials, machinery, or tools.Assist in the make ready process for the job task, frame poles on the ground, dig pole holes, set poles or pull wire.Keep work areas clean and organized. Pick up scrap wire, discarded materials, etc.Safely control traffic passing near, in, or around work zones.Keep unauthorized people away from work area. Shovel workWork as a team and fulfill any and all other duties and tasks as assigned.
