    POSITION TITLE: Produce Business Development Manager – Alternative Markets

    POSITION OVERVIEW:

    The Produce Business Development Manager – Alternative Markets will collaborate closely with the Vice President of Sales to explore innovative business channels within the produce industry across North America. This role involves aligning resources, identifying necessary capabilities for new initiatives, and fostering key strategic relationships. The incumbent will be responsible for business development, profit, and loss management, and cultivating partnerships with pivotal customers.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Identify and pursue sales growth opportunities through market research and strategic planning.

    Proactively engage potential and existing customers, enhancing their overall value, and fostering strong relationships.

    Supervise and mentor business development representatives, ensuring their effectiveness in sales operations.

    Set and surpass business development goals, guaranteeing quotas are consistently met or exceeded.

    Deliver compelling category management data presentations to clients, showcasing the benefits of our products/services. .

    Contribute to the development of customer-centric pricing protocols, ensuring competitive yet profitable rates.

    Evaluate and analyze new business proposals, providing strategic pricing recommendations to maximize sales potential.

    Assist in shaping product pricing strategy and contribute to profit and loss development, optimizing revenue streams.

    Lead cross-functional teams dedicated to supporting key strategic accounts, ensuring seamless collaboration and client satisfaction.

    Develop monthly volume and sales forecasts, enabling proactive planning and resource allocation.

    Provide comprehensive product information and craft persuasive sales presentations in response to Sales Department requests.

    Resolve pricing issues swiftly and efficiently, overseeing the seamless setup of new customers and products in internal systems, ensuring a smooth onboarding process.

    JOB REQUIREMENTS:

    Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Marketing, Finance, or related field, or equivalent experience.

    3-6 years of experience in the produce industry.

    Minimum of 4 years in a Sales-related operation.

    Experience in Food Service, Fresh Produce, or Consumer-Packaged Goods (CPG) highly desirable.

    Proficiency in category management highly preferred.

    Flexible work schedule and up to 70% travel

    PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT:

    Most work is performed in a temperature-controlled office environment

    Incumbent may sit for long periods of time at desk or computer terminal

    Incumbent may use keyboards, telephone, and other office equipment during normal workday

    Stooping, bending, twisting, and reaching may be required in completion of job duties
