Consider joining the City of San Bernardino's Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department as a part-time Recreation Specialist. As a Recreation Specialist you will plan, develop and instruct specialized sports and athletic activities on a scheduled basis and assists in organizing, supervising and directing a variety of recreational sports or athletic activities at City locations such as public parks, playgrounds and community centers. Part-time Recreation Specialists work an average of 20 hours per week and are assigned to varied work shifts, including weekends. Graduation from high school and a minimum of 1 year paid or 2 years of volunteer experience as a primary instructor in sports and athletics activities; or, in the development of special events programs. Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for the required education on a year for year basis to a maximum of 2 years.
