    Director of Human Resources

    The corporate offices of City Wide – Kansas City and City Wide Franchise is actively searching for a Director of Human Resources to oversee all aspects of human resources.

    The Director of Human Resources will oversee every all HR disciplines for City Wide, with a focus on creating a culture of being an employer of – “First Choice.” General responsibilities include enhancing our culture, improving our employee experience, employee relations, leading a successful talent acquisition department, workforce development, health benefits, and general administration. The ideal candidate will have prior experience leading an HR team, developing effective work relationships, diverse HR experiences, and a record of aligning a workforce in support of organizational goals.

    Summary of Responsibilities

    Delivers HR support and services to foster a positive culture within City Wide, aligning HR disciplines with organizational goals and strategy.

    Direct the recruiting, pre-employment testing, interviewing and hiring process; analyze exit interview data.

    Encourage a data-driven recruiting organization by leveraging recruiting metrics that provide insights, drive decision making and measure team productivity.

    Provide recruitment resources for franchise owners – sourcing, screening, interviewing, selection and onboarding.

    Drive alternative recruiting methods through local and national channels to increase our candidate pools.

    Direct City Wide’s performance management process to drive employee engagement, annual review process, scorecards, and onboarding resources.

    Support and implement City Wide’s succession planning with the Learning & Development team.

    Manage and negotiate union agreements for City Wide Maintenance-Kansas City.

    Evaluate the design, administration and ongoing evaluation of all compensation, rewards, and recognition programs.

    Supervise an existing HR team and provide appropriate coaching and development.

    Other duties and special projects as assigned.

    Requirements:

    Bachelor’s Degree required, HR certification (e.g., SHRM or CHRP) is desirable.

    7+ years of progressive HR generalist experience, including recruitment, compliance and safety, HR technology (i.e. HRIS, ATS, LMS), employee relations, and other primary HR functions.

    5+ years of experience managing a team of 3-5 HR professionals.

    Proven experience sourcing and attracting candidates and implementing effective retention strategies.

    Experience leading teams and taking responsibility for the development of others.

    Strategic thinker with astute business acumen and experience aligning human resources in a corporate environment.

    Effective leading others’ through influence, supervising, instructing, persuading, mentoring, motivating, counseling, and negotiating.

    Highly skilled communicator – both written and verbal; including formal presentations.

    Strong organization, follow-up, and project management skills.

    Proficient in Microsoft Office-Word, Excel, Power Point, and knowledge of Payroll and ATS.
